The commercial version of Nez’ latest CD, “Rays,” is finally here! It will be available on Monday, April 3rd. You can pre-order the album at Videoranch today by clicking here.
Rays is also available for download on iTunes and Rhapsody and will soon be available on Sony Connect, MSN Music, and Napster!
Here are some early customer reviews of “Rays”:
"...It is a very great collection of music from Nez.
Really do think it is one of the most adventuresome and enjoyable listening experiences I've had in recent memory.
To me, it's Nez's equivalent to Brian Wilson's SMILE! album...."
"...The song "Rays" is beautiful and the disc defies category. It's unlike anything I have ever heard and gives me a sense of exhilaration when I listen. I especially like the way the tracks segue together. I'm 48 and have been a fan since '66 and can say that Papa Nez has never sounded better!!! ..."
"...What a great sounding collection of music. Sure, I wish there were more of Nez's vocals on it...but I almost gasp at the clarity and depth of sound every time I play it. Wow!..."
"..The title song Rays was worth the cost of the entire CD. Oh that's such a good song in every sense of the word. I love the music and lyrics, I can't get enough of that one..."
"...I've enjoyed "Rays". A very different departure which is truly a Nez trait which takes us down a “Different Road " or " Highway without Mélange". The blending of one song ending to the beginning of the next flows effortlessly. Four years was worth the wait..."
The Long Sandy Hair of Neftoon Zamora:
Nez’ novel is now available at Audible.com as downloadable audio. You’ll find it in the New Releases section of Contemporary Fiction. It’s also available on iTunes.

It is with deep regret I announce that the campaign to get Michael Nesmith
a Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star has come to an end. There are no plans at this
time to try again.
I will begin the process of returning all the money contributed. It would be
helpful if those whose made contributions would email me to confirm their
present address as I started collecting funds 4 years ago and want to be certain
all addresses I have for returning money are current.
I don't see how the voting committee could overlook the fact that Michael
created the concept of MTV and ignore all his ground breaking video work. He won
the first Grammy ever given for a video. He was a country rock pioneer.
I'm sorry everyone. I really tried and believed in this with all my heart.

Nez on NPR Quiz Show:
Here’s some unusual news - Nez will be a guest on the NPR quiz show “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!” on Saturday, November 20th. He rarely agrees to participate in anything like this, but he’s a big supporter of the local Monterey Peninsula NPR station, KAZU, who is hosting this live recording of the show, so he’s agreed to do this for them. Click here to find your local NPR station for air times.
The Best of Michael Nesmith Songbook:
We received an early shipment of The Best of Michael Nesmith songbook and shipped them out to those of you who placed your pre-orders early. The rest of the books will arrive tomorrow and we’ll begin shipping them Friday. The book turned out beautifully and the additional CD of 20 songs makes this a very special collection. This is the first ever sheet music collection of songs written by Nez. This is sure to be a big holiday gift for Nez fans – even those who are not musicians themselves will love having the lyrics and melodies of some of Nez’ greatest songs.
We hope you stop by the ranch soon!

Michael Nesmith And The Second National Band: Tantamount To Treason (Volume One)
Let me introduce you to a classic. Make that two. In the pantheon of country-rock pioneers, usually limited to Gram Parsons & The Byrds, Michael Nesmith stands toe-to-toe with the best of them. After his stint in the forward thinking Monkees (just try to imagine SCTV, Kids In The Hall and even Saturday Night Live without their pioneering antics) he forged a solo career in the early seventies full of lucid, way-ahead-of-their-time releases, blueprints for Americana poster children Lambchop, Will Oldham and the Willard Grant Conspiracy. Imagine a peyote drugged Merle Travis conversing with poet Gary Snyder or Walt Whitman in silver cowboy boots. Nesmith is a shaman and a true star. Tantamount To Treason is by turns wheels-on-asphalt rockin and psilocybin-fueled spacey, philosophical AND earthy and all played out under starry skies by a romantic whose heart has never been far from his sleeve. Orville "Red" Rhodes languorous pedal steel brilliantly carries us through the cosmic strata, endlessly demonstrating that he might be the greatest, most imaginative gentleman to ever lay hands on that hayseed angels harp. This is the score you want pouring from the car speakers as you scream through the desert between L.A. and Las Vegas. It's an adventure distilled into musical form, one of the early steps in Nesmith's ever-unfolding musical wanderings. Recorded in 1972, Volume Two never happened. Nesmith returned to more traditional twang after this (though peppered with his beautiful poetic ravings) foray into the compellingly weird. In recent years he's taken his storytelling to the page with a strange, lovely novel called The Long Sandy Hair of Neftoon Zamora and he's toiling away on a new album, his first studio work since 1992's Tropical Campfires. It's disheartening that more people don't know what a musical genius Michael Nesmith is, how far ahead and far away from the pack he's rambled. Tantamount To Treason is a fine place to hitch a ride, a summer album for watching fireflies and building sand castles while you smoke homegrown hay with a long hair companion.

Nez did an interview for Canadian Bravo's Arts and Minds. Scheduled air date is Jan. 17th 2004 in Canada. No news on whether the segment will air in the US.
Update on Rays posted on Videoranch.com
Nez had anticipated releasing an album in 2003 titled "Rays." All that has changed. Here's the latest from Nez himself. "After thinking hard about the right way to go about making new music, and all the intellectual property issues the net raises, I have slowly come to the idea that I should release my music one song at a time here on Videoranch. I'll start with the song "Rays" and see how it goes. With file sharing and all that implies, it is really a new dawn for people like me who are working in the media arts. The traditional rules of distribution obviously don't apply anymore, and that affects everything from my side, including how I conceive a musical project. It used to be simple. A CD of fourteen or fifteen songs, bought at a store, take it home, play it, and there you are. But now, the whole notion of a CD is tossed into a different frame, and the idea of a group of songs seems kind of odd in the new context of downloadable songs and file sharing. So it seems to me that going one song at a time, a little here, and a little there, makes more sense. I don't know where this will all go from here, but that's a different bridge, so to speak.

Here is the news from the latest Dedicated Friends newsletter.
Michael recorded commentary for the Monkees Season 2 Box Set which will be released in November.
Videoranch is working with the folks at Artist Pro to put together a Michael Nesmith songbook! They hope to have it available in time for the holidays. The tentative list of 20 songs being considered are Joanne, Rio, The Crippled Lion, Different Drum, Roll With The Flow, Silver Moon, Some Of Shelly's Blues, Papa Gene's Blues, Listen To The Band, Light, Calico Girlfriend, Harmony Constant, Magic, Nine Times Blue, Flying, Nevada Fighter, Laugh Kills Lonesome, Continuing, Juliana and Mary, Mary.
Videoranch is also looking into putting Television Parts Home Companion on DVD.
As you all know I have been trying to get Michael his own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. One change has been made to the nomination procedure for 2004. The application must now be accompanied by a biography not exceeding two pages. In previous years you could submit up to ten pages. I will rewrite Michael's biography for the June 2004 nomination to comply with the two page limit. The deadline to send in nominations is May 31, 2004.

Happy Anniversary to The Monkees and all their fans!
A message from Donna
37
years ago today I became a Nez fan. The guy with the green wool hat made a big
impression on me at age 14 and he continues to be someone I think highly of and
want to support more than ever.
Michael will never be a teen idol to me because he is someone I grew up with,
not someone I out grew. As he matured and went through the different stages of
life, his work reflected that and I was able to grow and mature along with him
as life changed for me as well.
I thank God for all blessings I have received through Michael's work and
influence on me. Maybe someday I will find a way to give back to Nez a portion
of the good he has given me in the past 37 years

New update from Videoranch:
“When I wrote the images down for “Rio”, they were essentially disparate, discontinuous images. What I was doing was, on an aesthetic and spiritual basis, saying (that) this follows the intent of the song, and of course the song is non-narrative, non-linear…”----from the Michael Nesmith interview in the current issue of Tokion magazine.
Just a quick email to let you know Nez is in the September/October issue of Tokion magazine. Tokion is very cool and this issue’s theme is on “the originals”. Nez is in there as the inventor of MTV and the music video. It’s a great article and full of photos. Nez is in some good company too (Stan Lee, Jim Jarmusch, Debbie Harry)! It can be found at any LARGE newsstand (Borders Books and Music, etc.), but if you have trouble finding it, we’ll have a stack available to buy here at Videoranch beginning next week. Check out the Tokion site when you have a chance - www.tokion.com.
Have a great long weekend!
Your friends at Videoranch.

On June 20, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced who was selected for the Walk Of Fame Stars. Michael did not receive a star this year. The voting committee chose Jose Jose, Journey, Nancy Sinatra and Britney Spears in the category of recording.
Our fight to get Michael his star for his career of innovation in the music industry will continue! Nez has agreed to being nominated again in May 2004! (Donna does happy dance) So the campaign goes on. I will be posting a list of items to be auctioned off to raise the money for his star fee. Hang in there fellow Nezheads, we have just begun to fight.
Thanks to all who have supported the campaign.

The Long Sandy Hair of Neftoon Zamora Audio
Book has arrived!
"A mystical search through the southwest for beauty and truth, Michael Nesmith
writes with a rhythm and color that is as enveloping as his terrain. This is a
writer rich in humor, with a delightfully canny sense of the modern picturesque
novel. It's a wonderful ride with Mr. Nesmith. "
--Wendy Wasserstein, author and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of "The Heidi
Chronicles"
Unabridged 6 CD Set read by the author. Nez' reading of the story reveals
another level of humor and insight. There's a little bit of music and there are
sound effects scattered throughout. Listen to it while you're in your car, stuck
in traffic and it will magically transport you to the southwest.

Videoranch News
Hi everyone!
NEW MP3S:
MP3s being so popular these days we decided to make a few more
available at Videoranch. The Armadillo World Headquarters concert (1981)
ranks high on Nez' list of favorite live shows with John Hobbs on piano, Joe
Chemay on bass, Paul Leim on drums, and Billy Joe Walker Jr. and Jerry
Swallow on guitar. We've added both the live version of 'Capsule' and the
live version of 'Grand Ennui' from that show. If you have Live at the Palais
on CD then you've already heard these great takes.
By now, you've heard all about the diptychs and triptychs Nez created
for various albums. Rio / Casablanca Moonlight and You are my one / In the
afternoon both diptychs that are currently available as MP3s. Well, we've
just added a triptych from the First National Band Recordings! Calico
Girlfriend / Nine Times Blue / Little Red Rider, all three songs, one after
the other. These MP3s are only a couple of bucks each, a great way to sample
albums you don't yet have, and just plain cool to have downloaded onto your
computer.
THE LONG SANDY HAIR OF NEFTOON ZAMORA:
Long awaited as an audio book, The Long Sandy Hair of Neftoon Zamora
will be here next week! Yes, you read that right...NEXT WEEK! Read by Nez
himself, full of cool sound effects, and even some new music, a must have
for Nez fans. Look for another email from us announcing it's arrival soon.

"Greetings from Videoranch!
We have gotten a lot of great feedback about the new look of Videoranch.
We also heard from some dial-up folks that it was difficult to get around at
slow speeds. So, we've created an all html version of Videoranch. What does that
mean? It means no Flash, no whistles and bells -- just the basics. You get to
either the html or the Flash version by going to
www.videoranch.com. Click on the Low
Bandwidth button and it will take you to the html site. We're updating the site
constantly, so be sure and stop by. The next big changes are updates to The
Formosa Diner and the layout of the store.
The audio book version of "The Long Sandy Hair of Neftoon Zamora" read by
Nez is due out at the end of September. We'll be taking pre-orders for it in a
couple of weeks when we know the price for it. We've heard it and
really enjoyed it. There's a new understanding of the intent of some of the
parts of the book after hearing Nez read it. It's funny and has some cool sound
FX sprinkled throughout. It's unabridged on 6 CDs.
We're shipping via FedEx throughout the US now, so you'll be able to track
your Videoranch shipment easily.
Thanks for your interest!

Hey, fellow Nezheads! Great to be back with you after months of computer problems which would not allow me to work on the website. But, it looks like these problems have been resolved, and there are great things in the planning stages for Dedicated Friends! First, let me update you on what's happening with Nez.
Videoranch reports, "Nez spent a few days in the studio recording with Luis Conte and Gregg Bissonette. He's thrilled with the results and 'Rays' is sounding better and better. We still don't have a projected release date but we're certainly getting closer."
Update on Nez' Star for the Hollywood Walk of Fame:
I regret to announce that Michael was not chosen for Walk of Fame star.
The good news is Michael has agreed to allow me to nominate him again next year.
I have just sent the necessary paperwork for him to sign, and I will be working
on the letter to the committee to fill in a few blank areas. I sent in
Michael's nomination in May. A new letter was written for this year's
nomination, and Michael, along with the folks at the Ranch, helped me with some
of the information I needed. I debated whether I should switch categories
from Recording to Television, but my gut feeling was to stick with recording.
I decided it was best to get Nez's thoughts on the subject, so I asked a member
of the Ranch staff to ask Nez if he felt his best work belonged in the
television or recording category. Michael response was, "Recording."
I also asked Michael, "What concept would you feel is the primary focus of your
work, past and present, and what would you hope that people would remember from
it?" Nez responded, "The creation of the music video and the creation of
MTV."

I will have all the club members newsletters in the mail by tomorrow April 20.
Because of Michael relocating to Monterey, CA , there will be no Council of Ideas this summer. The CIO is normally held every two years. In early April, Nez moved all contents of the Gihon Foundation out of New Mexico and is looking for a new "home" to set up the family foundation created by his Mom.
Videoranch has a new look! They are in the middle of major renovations to the website and chatroom. On the website, they have added a flash introduction and rearranged some of the links. VR3D was closed down indefinitely for remodeling the last days of January.
Videoranch is still working on editing the audio book of Nez novel The Long Sandy Hair Of Neftoon Zamora.
Heres the latest news update direct from Videoranch:
Howdy, ladies and gentlemen! Just a bit of news for you.
Videoranch is now selling Timerider T-shirts. They come in red or white, long sleeved and short-sleeved. Theyre really cool. The long-sleeved ones make great early spring shirts. Check em out at http://www.videoranch.com/gshop/index.html?t=frindex&c=3
Weve got "Dr. Ducks Super Secret All-purpose Sauce" coming out on VHS sometime in May. Well let you know when we have them in.
Weve got some amazing "Videoranch" T-shirts in the pipeline, as well. Looks like well have them in stock in May.
Still no date on Nez "Rays" album release, though we know hes been working on the album every day. Weve only heard a bit of it and its seriously happening music. Sonically rich. Lots of vocals. Beautiful. Very difficult to describe. Not like anything else hes ever done before (does he ever do anything that sounds like the things hes done previously?). But, you can hear classic Nez elements throughout it. Well keep you updated
Major renovations going on here at Videoranch. Stop by from time to time and see the progress. Drop us an email. Eat your vegetables. Make your bed. Clean your room. Buy low sell high. Are you still reading this? All right. Enough.

The newsletters went in the mail today. Here's all the latest news from Videoranch:
Michael has been extremely busy over the past few months. He has just moved the "Works by Women" art collection of the Gihon Foundation from New Mexico to Monterey, CA. He was one of the jurors for the AFI's Best Film of the Year committee. Nez was required to watch over 100 movies before making his desicions! He wrote a screenplay of Neftoon Zamora, as well as read Neftoon for an audio book. He is still working on his new album "Rays".
Vic and Nez spent the holidays in California and had lots of family visiting. Their puppy Dale was recently in her first dog show and did very well. She was a bit shy at first having to get used to all the people and other dogs being around her. By the second day, she become a little pro at it all and came home a winner!
Nez was in VR3D two times in November, 19 and 28. He came in on business but took a moment to say hi to those in there. When a fan asked him for an update on his new album Rays, Nez said "I'm working hard on it. It's a lot different from anything I have done so far." A Videoranch staff member says "Rays" sounds incredible and they can't wait to hear it in the dance clubs.
Nez also announced while in VR3D that he is had just finished reading his novel The Long Sandy Hair of Neftoon Zamora for an audio book to be released by Videoranch. Nez has done all the reading but quite a bit of editing work still needs to take place. A few sections of the book may need to be read over as too much background noise was picked up in the recording process. (sound of Nez' hand moving on the page and the sound of the pages being turned). The project turned out to be a bit more complicated than what the ranch anticipated. Although no date has been set, the ranch hopes to have the audio book of Neftoon released in the first quarter. It was just announced that Nez has also written a screenplay for Neftoon as well. We will have to see what develops with that.
Nez has been a member of the American Film Institute Board of Trustees since 1992. On October 31, 2001 it was announced that Michael and two other trustee board members were re-elected as vice chairs for the board of directors of the AFI.
In December, the American Film Institute prepared for it's first televised awards show. Two 13-member committees - one representing motion pictures and one representing television - selected the nominations for AFI Awards 2001. The committees were comprised of experts from across the film and television communities, including three AFI Trustees, three critics, three scholars, three artists and a chair on each. Nez was a member of the AFI motion picture nominating committee.
The American Film Institute (AFI) presented its first annual AFI Awards at the historic Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on January 5, 2002. Nez and Victoria attended the AFI Awards. The couple could be seen seated right in front of the stage and could be easily spotted in the audience throughout most of the show.
The three-hour program was broadcast live on the CBS Television Network and honored the collaborative teams and individuals who created the years most outstanding achievements in film and television. AFI AWARDS 2001 identified the 10 most outstanding American films of the year and presented television awards in the categories of comedy series, drama series, movies and mini-series. Up to six "AFI Moments of Significance," events that occurred during the previous calendar year and reflect the impact of culture, politics, new technologies or other influences on the moving image arts, were also identified.
Taped commentaries made by the committee members discussing their reasons for choosing each work were played along with clips from the movie. Nez commented on "Moulin Rouge", "A Beautiful Mind" and "Memento". Clips were shown from the movie Shrek which ended with the song "Im a Believer " playing. I guess the camera man couldnt resist the opportunity to zero in for a close up of Nez, who got caught with a very adorable grin on his face.
The Gihon Foundation which both Michael and Victoria are trustees of was started by Michael's mom. This operating foundation runs a program called the Council of Ideas. The Gihon Foundation also owns an art collection of works by American women. This collection has been hanging in the foundation headquarters in Nambe, New Mexico up until just recently. The collection has moved and will be hanging at the Monterey Museum of Art in Monterey, California from January 26 to May 19, 2002. You can read all about the collection at http://www.gihon.com. and also get more information about the museum at: http://www.montereyart.org/

The Wichita Train Whistle Sings is now available on CD. The artwork is from the original Dot LP. Nez did not have access to the master so he used a vinyl album as the master and worked several days on it perfecting the sound quality. The CD costs $16.95 plus shipping.
Timerider is now available on DVD. Nez wrote the soundtrack with the help of John Hobbs, the screenplay with Bill Dear and was the producer of this film. The DVD costs $15.95 plus shipping. Videoranch is looking into getting some Timerider t-shirts made in the next couple of months. Both Wichita and Timerider can be ordered online at www.videoranch..com or you can phone in your order by calling the ranch's toll free number 1-866-727-2639.
Jason Nesmith has a new CD called Pleasure Island. Other musicians include brother Jonathan, who plays keyboards on the album and also bass on one song. Both brothers were producers on the album.
Star CampaignOur efforts to get Michael a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame will continue this year. The nomination must be sent in by May 31, 2002. In the next few months I will once again work on a letter. What I would really like to do if Michael agrees to it ,would be to interview him and then create a full hour video documentary of his career to present to the committee. Todays marks MTV's 20th anniversary. As you know Nez was the creator of the concept behind MTV. To prove the concept that a 24 hour video station could work, Nez' created the the first music video show "Pop Clips" which was a tremendous success, marking Michael Nesmith as the "Father of American Music Video".7/30/01
On July 12, I spoke with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and was informed Michael was not awarded a star. I was told which artists did receive stars in the field of recording and that one of those artists had been nominated 4 times before receiving their star. Remember, it took two years of hard work to get The Monkees their Walk Of Fame Star.I am very pleased to announce that the campaign to get Michael his star will continue! Michael didn't get it this time but we are nominating him again next year.
I just received this statement from Michael on the star campaign:
"Thank you for trying. I really appreciate the support that the fans, and you, have given me over the years"For those of you who contributed to the star fund, I will need to know if you would like your money returned or kept in the fund for next year? You can email me at nezfanclub@aol.com to speed up the process or wait for me to contact you by snail mail.
Thank you for supporting this campaign and I hope that you will once again chose to support the all new "Star Campaign For Michael, 2002."

Star update- I called the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce today and was informed that The Walk of Fame Committee will not announce who will be receiving stars until the end of July. This means I will go ahead and put together the July 1 newsletter without the results of the star campaign. Videoranch will be forwarding me all the latest news early next week so there should only be about a week delay in the newsletters.
6/6/01 Nez may possibly sign a record deal. Videoranch will let us know if that becomes a reality. Videoranch has a new download store. It is offering 3 never before heard Nesmith tunes you can download! Michael may record individual chapters of his book, "The Long Sandy Hair of Neftoon Zamora" and offer them as well. Check it out at Videoranch!

A Nez tribute album has been released by Dren records. The album is titled "PAPA NEZ: A Loose Salute To The Works of Michael Nesmith". Tapeheads on DVD: Back in 1988 our beloved Nez brought us Tapeheads. A movie with John Cusack and Tim Robbins, about two out of work security guards who'll do anything to make Music Videos. If you liked watching these two in High Fidelity you'll love this film. Tapeheads shows up on all the "Greatest movies never seen: lists. We now have it on DVD. It comes with a single CD of the song Ordinary Man, by the Swanky Modes, which looks like an old 45. There's also very interesting commentary by the director Bill Fishman, the set decorator Catherine Hardwicke, and Nez (Michael Nesmith). Click here to watch a clip from the movie. If you like what you see, click here to get your very own copy!
VR3D: I'm sure most of you have already heard about VR3D and if you haven't, well you'll learn all about it now! VR3D is the internet's number one destination resort! It's the place to go if you're in the mood to hang out in a beautiful environment and take a break, hang out with friends, or meet new people. You can choose to be whomever you'd like, ride a scooter or be a flamingo, and you can walk around our peaceful forest of mp3's and listen to music, or cruise the connection corral and watch little movies by clicking on the horned televisions. The sun is always shining and there's plenty to do! If you're familiar with VR3D you already know all of this, but you might not know that we have an update you can download. The new version runs a lot smoother and looks great. There are some requirements you should know about before you download the new one though. You'll need a fairly new PC with a 3D graphics accelerator card. If you're a Mac user you'll want OS 8.0 or better running PC emulation software. If you don't have an accelerator card or you're not sure then you'll want to stick with VR3D 2.2. Alright, enough with the technical stuff...IF you have any questions please email the foreman@videoranch.com. You can go directly to the download page by clicking here.

Send me your opinions and ideas to be put in a special book called "Who Is Michael Nesmith". If you would be willing to have your story posted on the website,or printed in the newsletter, please let me know. Unless I have your permission, your letter will be kept private. The new December issue of Wired magazine is out and features a 9 page article on Nez. The article is about The Council Of Ideas and also talks about Nez' work and his ranch in New Mexico. I learned a few new things and found it to be a worthwhile read.
Updated 10/3
Nez will not be doing a reading of his first novel "The Long Sandy Hair of Neftoon Zamora" in Santa Fe, New Mexico at St. Johns College. Things did not work out and the event has been cancelled.
New Album
Nez has been working on his latest album entitled "NEZ RAYS". Michael says "The name is RAYS, like from the sun, like x rays only nez rays, you can see things, which you may not want to see, but you can see them anyway." Michael has recently been spending much of his time writing and composing the music. Some of the completed songs are for Fried Pies, a movie that Michael has written. Nez has not decided on what musicians will make up this band but Luis Conte is being considered.
KPIG Radio Interview
KPIG, Nez favorite radio station, out of Monterey, California interviewed him on August 15. While being interviewed at KPIG, Nez was also chatting in VR3D answering questions from a DJ. It was a test run for a more in depth interview for the future. KPIG wanted to make sure they could handle the radio interview and the VR3D interview at the same time.
.Wired Magazine
Nez was also in VR3D on July 25 showing a "Wired Magazine" reporter around. The reporter is covering an article on the Council of Ideas but will also include information on Nez. Photos for the article will were just taken this past week. Look for the December issue of "Wired" for the Nez article.
Council Of Ideas
Nez , Victoria and the Ranch staff hosted the 2000 Council of Ideas on July 21-23. The gathering took place at The Gihon Foundation retreat center located on Michaels New Mexico ranch. The Council of Ideas met for the first time in 1990, so this year marks a decade since the meetings first began. Visual images of the Council giving their statement could be seen on the Videoranch web cameras. Streaming audio was also used. Nez made the introduction before the Council announced that globalization is the largest issue facing the world today.
Consent For The Star
On July 14, Michael signed the paper work allowing me to nominate him for a Walk of Fame Star and agreed to attend the ceremony should he be awarded a star. My sincerest thanks go to Michael and his staff members Cookie and Jessica for helping me make this campaign a reality.

A Star For Michael
I am still looking for your ideas on why Michael deserves this star. The more ideas the
better. We need to let this committee know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Michael has
earned this star many times over. Please, submit as many ideas as you like to:
http://www.nezfriends.com/ideaforms.htm
What I am also looking for are answers to questions like these... Who said he was a
pioneer of country rock? Who said "The Prison" and "The Garden" were
innovations? Who has worked with Michael, recorded his music, anything he's been connected
with in the MUSIC industry. I would like to start tracking down these folks to use their
quotes in the letter to the star committee. The bigger the name, the better.
Please provide names, dates and where you heard this when you can. For this part of the
letter, documented evidence can make a tremendous difference.
All thoughts from all fans are valued and needed. If you have an idea please send it
in. I will carefully consider everything given to me.
And remember, it might just be YOUR idea that will convince
the committee to give Michael his star!
VR3D If you have not yet visited Videoranch 3D, I highly recommend you do so as soon as you have a chance. It's building up and there are new Ranch Regulars in there daily.
